Loyd Dry

March 6, 1942 — February 26, 2019

Loyd Dewayne Dry, 76, of Strang, Oklahoma, passed away on Tuesday, February 26, 2019 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He was born on March 6, 1942 in Claremore, Oklahoma; the son of Barker and Hazel (Ward) Dry. Loyd faithfully served his country in the United States Marine Corps from 1960 until 1964. He worked as a carpenter most of his life. He enjoyed building houses, remodeling, and was a wonderful trim carpenter. Loyd also looked forward to spending time outdoors, especially fishing and spending time on the boat. He and his grandsons loved to go trot line fishing. He also enjoyed coon hunting, and when he was no longer able to go, he would love to still sit and enjoy the sound of the coon dogs. When he wasn’t spending time outdoors, he was watching Thunder Basketball play on television and visiting with his two best friends, Melvin Pritchett and Darrell Blalock. Loyd was a loving, kind, and sometimes ornery man who will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, March 1, 2019 in the Shipman’s Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Lorne Beck officiating.
