Mary Lou Graves, 86, of Pryor, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully on July 10, 2026.


Mary Lou was born on February 18, 1940, in El Paso, Texas, to Jose Flores and Anastasia (Ramirez) Flores. She married Joseph N. Graves on July 2, 1971, in Merced, California, and together they built a life centered on family, faith, and caring for others.


Mary Lou dedicated more than 20 years of service as a cannery worker for John Inglis Frozen Foods. She was known for her strong work ethic, generous heart, and welcoming spirit. Mary Lou found her greatest joy in cooking for those she loved, hosting family gatherings, and extending warm hospitality to everyone who entered her home. Her kindness and love will be remembered by all who knew her.


She is survived by her daughters, Juanita Carreon of Ceres, California, and Diana Flores of Callahan, California; her stepdaughters, Linda Jo Opal of Dardanelle, Arkansas, Sharon Ball of Arkansas, and Karon Fack of Modesto, California; her stepson, Joseph Michael Graves of Anchorage, Alaska; her sisters, Helen Rivera of Atwater, California, Teresa Gallegos of New Mexico, and Elvia Bittle of Modesto, California; 6 grandchildren and 10 step grandchildren; and 7 great-grandchildren and 17 step great-grandchildren, along with many other relatives and friends who will cherish her memory.


Mary Lou was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph, her parents, Jose and Anastasia (Ramirez) Flores, and her son, Daniel Loya.

Mary Lou's legacy of love, generosity, and devotion to her family will live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her.

A Rosary will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 14, 2026, at the Shipman's Funeral Home Chapel located at 1204 NE 1st St. Pryor, Oklahoma 74361. Funeral Services will be held the following day at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, July 15, 2026, at the Shipman's Funeral Home Chapel with Father Valentine Ndebili officiating.
