Mary Allyne Martin, born on January 31, 1945, in Claremore, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully on September 8, 2024, in Tulsa, Oklahoma. She was a beloved cook at Sertoma for many years, where her dedication to her work was matched only by her enthusiasm for visiting coworkers and patrons alike. Mary brought joy to those around her with her loving and warm spirit. Throughout her life, Mary cultivated numerous passions that enriched her soul. She had a deep love for crochet, creating beautifully crafted pieces that brought warmth to her home and joy to her family and friends. An avid reader, she found peace and adventure within the pages of books, often immersing herself in stories that expanded her horizons. Family gatherings were especially meaningful to Mary, and she cherished holidays, with the 4th of July holding a special place in her heart. These moments filled with laughter and love were some of her proudest accomplishments, as they showcased the strong bonds she built with her loved ones. Mary will be remembered not only for her skills in the kitchen and her crafting abilities but also for her nurturing spirit and the countless lives she touched. Her legacy of love and community will continue to inspire those who knew her, as she leaves behind fond memories that will be cherished forever. She will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege to know her.

Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, September 20, 2024, in the Chouteau West Cemetery in Chouteau, Oklahoma. Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Thursday, September 19, 2024, at Shipman’s Funeral Home in Pryor. Mary is survived by her sons, Bo Vernon and BJ Martin of Chouteau, Oklahoma, Gene Morgan of Muskogee, Oklahoma and Donnell Kennedy of Missouri; daughter, Shonna Ickes of Texas; sister, Gloria Jones and husband Windell of Chouteau, Oklahoma; 2 grandchildren, Kya Crawford and Desiree Trotter; and 3 great grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, Paul Tiger and Mary Ward, and sisters, Ruby Lowery and Beth Copenhagen.
