Mary Stephenson

Mary F. Stephenson, 77, of Salina, passed away on Monday, December 9, 2019 in Salina. She was born on May 20, 1942 in Altus, Oklahoma; the daughter of Leroy and Betty (Kreder) Waldroop. Mary married Larry Stephenson on September 13, 1974 in Tulsa and celebrated 36 years of marriage, until his passing in 2011. In June of 1977, they opened Stephenson’s Convenience Store in Salina. She looked forward to playing Bingo at the American Legion in Salina. Her favorite pastime, was watching her grandchildren play baseball and basketball and attending all the activities they were involved in. She was a loving wife, caring mother, and wonderful grandmother who leaves behind many memories for her family to cherish.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, December, 13, 2019 in the Shipman’s Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Gary Blackford officiating. Burial will follow in the Ross – Mayes Cemetery with Steven Stephenson, Tyler Stephenson, Jake Johnson, Kyle Johnson, Conner Johnson, Coby Johnson, Kayden Stephenson, Chance Condit, and Terry Stimpson serving as casket bearers.  Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Thursday, December 12, 2019 at Shipman’s Funeral Home. Mary is survived by her sons, Danny Stephenson and wife Patty of Salina, Oklahoma, Rick Johnson of Salina, Oklahoma, Reath Johnson and wife Michealle of Salina, Oklahoma, and Josh Stephenson of Salina, Oklahoma; daughter, Michelle Stephenson – Condit and husband Ricky of Adair, Oklahoma; 13 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren and 1 on the way. She is preceded in death by her parents, Leroy and Betty Waldroop; husband, Larry Stephenson; 2 brothers, Garland and Delbert Waldroop; and sister, Gayla Richardson.
