Mattie "Kaye" Cheatwood

Mattie “Kaye” Cheatwood, 82, of Pryor, went to her heavenly home on December 1, 2020 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. She was born on April 26, 1938 in Pryor, Oklahoma; the daughter of J.W. “Pete” Buffington and Eva (Teter) Buffington. Kaye married Wayne Cheatwood and together they spent many wonderful years together until his passing in 2005. She was a member of Life Fellowship Church and enjoyed doing activities with her fellow Hilltoppers. Kaye was a “Pink Lady” at the local Pryor Hospital and volunteered her time there for many years. She will be dearly missed by those who knew and loved her.

Kaye is survived by her nephews, Gary Buffington and wife Pam; Jack Buffington and wife Judy; niece, Sharon Buffington; and many other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, Pete and Eva; husband, Wayne; and brothers, Wayne, Harry, and Gordon Buffington.
