Melissa Colon

Melissa Verdean Colon, 52, of Pryor, passed away on Saturday, July 27, 2019 in Pryor. She was born on March 9, 1967 in Hayward, California; the daughter of Bud Arnold Jones and Henrietta (Purtle) Jones. She worked in the retail industry for most of her life. Melissa loved listening to country music, going on road trips, and shopping. She also looked forward to cooking and spending time with her children and grandchildren. She had a special love for her dog, Teddy Bear. Melissa was a wonderful mother, grandmother, sister and friend and will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

Memorial visitation will be held on from 12:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m., Saturday, August 3, 2019 at Shipman’s Funeral Home. Melissa is survived by her daughters, Jacqueline Rinne of Pryor, Oklahoma, Kasie Colon – McFarland of Pryor, Oklahoma, Heather Robinson of California, and Catrina Robinson of Pryor, Oklahoma; boyfriend, William Thompson of Pryor, Oklahoma; sister, LaWanda Weddington of Texas; grandchildren, Nevaeh Rinne, Damien Colon, Khrystopher McFarland, and Mariah Vargas; and many other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her husband, Eddie Colon, and parents, Henrietta Jones and Bud Jones.
