Melvin Lee Voth, 88, of Adair, passed away on Friday, December 30, 2022 in Pryor. He was born on February 21, 1934; the son of John J and Ella (Rempel) Voth. He attended school at the Oklahoma Bible Academy in Meno, Oklahoma. He then married the love of his life, Eleanor Nickel, on August 1, 1958 in Bessie, Oklahoma and they have celebrated 64 years of marriage. Melvin spent his life as a dairy farmer, moving to the Adair area in 1967. He was actively involved in the Zion Mennonite Church where he served as an Elder and was a song leader for many years and was active in their prison ministry. He also was very civic oriented. He was a member of the Mayes County Gideon Camp and was a 34-year member of the Water Board, as well as serving on the Fair Board and the Farm Credit Board. He looked forward to spending time in his flower and vegetable garden. Melvin was a strong Christian man who was steadfast in his faith and loved his family deeply.  He always greeted others with a firm handshake, a smile, and a bit of wit. He leaves behind many memories for his friends and family to cherish.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, January 6, 2023 in the Zion Mennonite Church with Brother Duey Matthews officiating. Burial will follow in the Zion Mennonite Church with Steve Roberson, Matt Roberson, Jon Roberson, Derek Voth, Nathan Voth, and Wyatt Voth serving as casket bearers. Honorary casket bearers will be the Mayes County Gideons. Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Thursday, January 5, 2023 at Shipman’s Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Mayes County Gideons or to the Zion Mennonite Church. Melvin is survived by his wife, Eleanor Voth of the home; sons, Vernon Voth and wife Terri of Pryor, Oklahoma and Doug Voth and wife Leah of Rockwall, Texas; daughter, Cindy Roberson and husband Mark of Pryor, Oklahoma; brother, Donald Voth of Albuquerque, New Mexico; sister, Esther Brenneman of Siloam Springs, Arkansas; 10 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends. HE is preceded in death by his parents, John and Ella Voth; and brothers, James Voth and John Voth.
