Michael Lee Smoke

May 3, 1975 — May 7, 2025

Kenwood

Michael Lee Smoke, 50, of Salina, passed away on Wednesday, May 7, 2025, in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He was born on May 3, 1975, in Claremore to Charles and Betty (Ketcher) Smoke. Michael spent much of his life working as a laborer at the Salina Care Center and Kaska, as well as taking on various projects through self-employment. He took great pride in staying busy and had a passion for working with his hands—whether it was rewiring stereo equipment, fixing things around the house, or simply tinkering. A devoted family man, Michael cherished time spent with his loved ones. He especially enjoyed watching sports—an avid OU fan who never missed a football or basketball game. He also had a deep love for food and family meals, with a special fondness for potato salad. His grandchildren brought him immense joy, and he loved playing video games with them and other family members. Michael will be remembered for his generous spirit, his love of family, and the joy he found in life’s simple pleasures. His legacy lives on in the memories he made and the love he gave so freely.

He is survived by his sons, Layne Smoke and wife Rebekah of Salina, Oklahoma; son, Forrest Smoke of Salina Oklahoma and daughter, Dalila Smoke of Siloam Springs, Arkansas; and the mother of his children and special friend, Danielle Smoke of Salina, Oklahoma. He is also survived by his parents, Charles and Betty Smoke of Salina; sister Lisa Smoke and Gerald Proctor of Kenwood. brother Aaron Smoke of Kenwood, Oklahoma, sister Jessie McCarter and husband Jeremiah of Salina Oklahoma and Peter Smoke and wife Katie of Kenwood, Oklahoma. Michael was a proud grandfather to Raven and Finch Smoke, with another grandchild on the way; and best friend, Jackie Williams of Salina, Oklahoma. He will also be missed by numerous nieces and nephews. And great nieces and nephews. Michael was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Levi King and Willie and Annie Smoke, and his maternal grandparents, Charley and Louise Ketcher.
