Mitchell "Mitch" Stacy Smith

Mitchell Stacy Smith, lovingly known as Mitch, passed away on Tuesday, January 9, 2024, at his home. He was born on September 4, 1976, in Pryor, Oklahoma to Charles and Willa Smith. Mitch had a fulfilling career as a welder, which allowed him to travel across the United States. He had an unwavering passion for his work and absolutely loved what he did. Outside of work, Mitch was a devoted family man who cherished spending time with his loved ones. His wife, Chassie Smith, was his rock and constant source of love and support. Together they built a beautiful life and shared countless precious memories. Mitch's vibrant personality extended beyond his work and family life. He had a passion for building fast machinery that fueled his adventurous spirit. Whether it was jet boats, motorcycles, or cars – especially hot rods – Mitch loved working on them and embracing the thrill of fast things. Additionally, he found joy in the great outdoors through his love for hunting, fishing, and camping. Going on motorcycle rides allowed him to experience the freedom he cherished.

Mitch was a proud father to his sons Kyler Smith, Legen Smith, and Steven Smith, all of Pryor, as well as his daughters, Ashley Ford, Paislee Scott, Preslee Scott, and Jaycee Johnson. His children were the light of his life. Mitch cherished moments with each one of them and took immense pride in watching them grow. He adored his grandchildren, Delilah, Benny, Layah, and Brodie. Being a grandfather brought immeasurable joy to his heart. He cherished the opportunity to be part of their lives and showered them with affection every chance he got.

Family was everything to Mitch. He loved catching up with relatives near and far by phone calls that allowed him to stay connected. In addition to his immediate family members, Mitch is survived by his brother Michael Smith and wife Cristi of Pryor; sisters Cindy Smith of New Braunfels, Texas, and Judy Costner of Pryor. His parents Charles and Willa Smith; one uncle; along with his grandparents preceded him in death.

Funeral services for Mitch will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, January 16, 2024, at Northstar Church in Pryor with Pastor Roy Evans and Adrion Webber officiating. Burial will follow at Graham Memorial Cemetery in Pryor with Nigel King, Shane Church, Keith Early, Les Girdner, Kyler Smith, and Travis Ledoux serving as casket bearers. Honorary casket bearers include Dave Key, Frankie Jacobson, Mike Smith, Legen Smith and Steven Smith.  A visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Monday, January 15, 2024, at Shipman's Funeral Home in Pryor.
