Muriel "Jeannie" Thomas-Garrett

Muriel “Jeannie” Thomas - Garrett, 76, of Pryor, passed away on Tuesday, November 19th 2019 in Tulsa Oklahoma. She was born April 23rd, 1943 in Ladysmith, Wisconsin; the daughter of Fritz and Edna (Holmes) Petersen. Jeannie was a collector of all things, especially books. She had a passion for animals, but had a special love for cats. Jeannie loved each moment she had with her grand and great grand babies. Her favorite pastime was going to lunch with which ever family member was available that day. She enjoyed spending time crocheting, reading and watching television. Jeannie was a wonderful mother, grandmother, and great grandmother who will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm, Saturday, November 23rd, 2019 in the Shipman’s Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Gene Green and Pastor Joel Garcia officiating. Burial will follow in the Graham Memorial Cemetery with Alexander Garrett, Nathan Thomas IV, James Thomas, Christian Thomas – Leandro, Nicklaus VanSandt, and Anthony Garrett. Honorary casket bearers will be Joseph VanSandt, Miguel Plata II, Jordan Vail, Chris Holmes, and Kyle Garrett. Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Friday, November 22, 2019 at Shipman’s Funeral Home. Jeannie is survived by her children, Nathan Thomas and wife Becky of Manteca, California, Angel Plata and husband Mike of Manteca, California, Jeana VanSandt of Disney, Oklahoma, and Ben Garrett and wife Tiffanie of Chouteau, Oklahoma; brothers, Don Petersen and wife Kay of Manteca, California and Fred Petersen and wife Sissy of Manteca, California; sister, Tina Camden and husband Clifford of Manteca, California; 19 grandchildren, and numerous great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, Fritz and Edna Petersen; and husband, Robert Lee Garrett; son, Theodore Garrett; brother, Joseph George Petersen and 3 grandchildren.
