Norma Holder

Norma Dee Holder, 85, of Pryor, Oklahoma, passed away on December 11, 2020 after a long battle with dementia.  She was born to Delphyn Moore and Reva (Day) Moore, on June 26, 1935 in Inola, Oklahoma. She married Ross Smith on January 6, 1951, together they lived in Inola and Mazie and had one son, Robert Dale Smith. On February 14, 1975, she married James Holder.  They lived in Chouteau until moving to Pryor.  She worked for Phil and Margie Hughes of Tulsa for 30 plus years as a housekeeper and nanny.  In her younger years she loved to square dance.  Later it was two step and swing.  She loved playing cards.  She played wherever she could, Sertoma, Card Senior Center, or just at friend’s houses.  Most of all she liked to win.  They attended First Free Will Baptist Church.  Norma was also a member of the IOOF Ladies Auxiliary and the Elks Lodge.  Before leaving home and going to Oxford Glen Memory Care at Owasso, she had two special friends Kay Smith and Evelynn Fox that would visit often and take her places.  Going out to lunch with her sister was always a wonderful day. She loved family dinners and spending time with her two granddaughters and great grandkids.  She was a special mom, mother-in-law, sister and most of all Nanny.  She will be so lovingly remembered by all who knew and loved her.

Graveside Services will be held on Wednesday, December 16, 2020 at 2 p.m. in the Highland Cemetery in Inola, Oklahoma with Thomas Ballard officiating.  A come and go visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 15, 2020 from 12:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.  To leave a personal message to her family, please see her Tribute at www.shipmansfuneralhome.com.  Arrangements are under the direction of Shipman’s Funeral & Cremation Service.

She is survived by one son, Robert Dale Smith and wife, Debbie of Pryor, OK; two granddaughters, Angela Pilmaier and husband, Andrew of Owasso, OK, Ashley Smith of Bartlesville, OK; three great grandchildren, Robert Joseph Pilmaier, Amelia James Pilmaier and Evalynn Joy Pilmaier; one sister, Glennie Spurlock and husband, Donnie of Inola, OK; nephews, Roger Spurlock and wife, Sally and Dustin Spurlock and wife, Alissa; great nieces, Sadie Redburn and husband Sean and Ava Spurlock; many other relatives and friends.  She was preceded in death by husband, James Holder and her parents, Delphyn and Reva Moore.
