Orpha Lois Sutley, 95, of Pryor, passed away on Wednesday, February 12, 2020 in Coffeyville, Kansas. Orpha was born on February 20, 1924 in Griggs, Oklahoma; the daughter of Levi and Emma (Williamson) Combs. On November 20, 1941, she married the love of her life, Russell Sutley, at the age of 17, in New Mexico. Together they had 3 children: Kenneth, Kurtis, and Sandra. She worked as a homemaker most of her life, enjoying the time she was able to spend raising her children and tending to the home. Orpha and Russell had some of the best times of their life dancing together in Inola, Oklahoma at the round-up club. They spent 46 wonderful years together until his passing in 1978. Orpha had several hobbies she enjoyed: crocheting, candy making, and ceramics. She loved and adored her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren and leaves behind a legacy for them all to cherish. A loving wife, mother, and grandmother, she was a blessing to all who knew and loved her.
Funeral services for Orpha will be held on Monday, February 17, 2020 at 10:00 a.m., at Shipman’s Funeral Home Chapel with Mark Johnson officiating. Burial will be in the Graham Memorial Cemetery with Russell Cormack, David Hamilton, Matthew Sutley, Stephen Sutley, Jerad Wunder, and Jordan Wunder serving as casket bearers. Orpha is survived by her sons, Kenneth Sutley and wife Sue of Pryor, Oklahoma, and Kurtis Sutley and wife Susan of Hot Springs, Arkansas; 5 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, and 5 great great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, Russell and daughter, Sandra Sutley.
