Patsi Ann Bird, 76, of Pryor, passed away on Sunday, February 4, 2024, in Pryor, Oklahoma. She was born on August 11, 1947, in Tahlequah, Oklahoma to Runaway Blackbear and Betsy Bird. She was known for her caring nature and her ability to bring laughter to those around her.
Patsi dedicated many years as a house supervisor at the Seneca Indian School in Wyandotte. Her commitment and passion for her work made a lasting impact on the lives of the students she served. In addition to her career, Patsi was cherished for her role as a caregiver to her siblings. When they were growing up, Patsi took care of them with love and dedication. Her siblings looked up to her as a second mother.
Patsi had a great sense of humor and loved to crack jokes. She brought joy and laughter into the lives of those around her. Her warm personality created an inviting atmosphere.
Patsi enjoyed playing bingo and engaging in puzzles such as jigsaw puzzles and crossword puzzles. She also enjoyed watching television shows, particularly old westerns.
Patsi is preceded in death by her parents, Runaway Blackbear and Betsy Bird; brother, James Blackbear; and sisters Ramona Blackbear and Alfreda Shockey. She leaves behind her brothers Dexter Blackbear and wife Suzanne of Rose, OK; Tim Blackbear of Broken Arrow, OK; and Indian Martin and wife Casey of Tulsa, OK. Patsi also leaves behind numerous other relatives and friends.
Funeral services for Patsi will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, February 9, 2024, in the Shipman's Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Joe Pigeon officiating.
