Paul Statham

Paul George Statham, 82, of Pryor, Oklahoma, passed away on Wednesday, May 11, 2022 in Pryor, Oklahoma.  He was born on February 14, 1940 in Shady Point, Oklahoma, the son of Talmadge Statham and Pauline (Withers) Statham.  Paul was baptized in the Pryor First Baptist Church in 1949.  He married Zola Annette Nave in the First Baptist Church in Pryor on June 1, 1962, and made a wonderful life together until her passing.  Paul was a beloved teacher in the Pryor Junior High, teaching Drafting, Industrial Arts and Woodworking.  Paul earned his Master’s Degree from Northeastern State University.  Paul enjoyed gardening and working on the house with Annette.  They enjoyed all the time they spent with children and grandchildren.  A member of the Pryor First Baptist Church, Paul served as Deacon and was very active in church activities.  They enjoyed going on trips with the church groups.  Paul made many contributions to his community in his service to his church and to the many students he impacted in such positive ways through the years.  He will be so very missed by all who knew and loved him.

Funeral Services for Paul will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, May 17, 2022 in the First Baptist Church of Pryor with Dr.  Mike Cox officiating.  Interment will follow in the Graham Memorial Cemetery with Nick Statham, Sean Statham, Aaron Statham, Jade Wilkes, Sean LaValley, and Brandon LaValley.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6-8 p.m. Monday Evening.  Arrangements are under the direction of Shipman’s Funeral & Cremation Service.

Paul is survived by his children, Steven Paul Statham of Rosenberg, TX and John David Statham and wife, Linda of Claremore, OK; eight grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren; brothers, Albert Statham and Allan Statham and wife, Phyllis; many other relatives and friends.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Talmadge and Pauline Statham; wife, Zola Annette Statham; daughters, Lisa Ann Statham and Julie Kay Statham; brother, Gene Statham; sister, Patricia Statham
