Paula McGirt

Paula Gene McGirt, 87, of Pryor, passed from this life on Sunday, June 20, 2021, in Pryor, Oklahoma. She was born on August 30, 1933 in Tulsa, Oklahoma; the daughter of Paul Willis Newsom and Geneva Jessie (Montgomery) Newsom. In her earlier years, Paula worked at the Glass House in Vinita, then went on to work for King Louie in Adair. She was a master seamstress and loved to sew and crochet scarfs. Paula leaves behind many wonderful memories for her family and friends to cherish.

Services for Paula will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, June 24, 2021 at Shipman’s Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Ghormley Cemetery. Come and go visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, June 23, 2021 at Shipman’s Funeral Home. Paula is survived by her son, Sammy Lee Richardson and wife Kathy of Strang; granddaughters, Stacie Borgstorm and husband Greg of Adair and Amanda Richardson of Adair; great grandchildren, Amy Borgstorm of Adair, Rachel Borgstorm of Adair, Kristofer Sisson of Adair, and Gage Foshee of Adair; sisters, Bobbie Bruffett of New Mexico, Linda Harris of Tulsa, and Shawn Theorine of Arizona; and brother, Paul Newsom of New Mexico. She is preceded in death by her husbands, Claud Richardson and Raymond McGirt; parents, Paul and Geneva; step mother, Ethel Newsom; infant daughter; sisters, Corena Kirby, Donna Bates, Brenda Meyers, and Joan Graves; and brother, John Lyman.
