Paul Dean (Popeye) Littlefield 86, of Pryor, Oklahoma passed from this life on Saturday, August 28, 2021, in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He was born on August 15, 1935, the son of Oscar Franklin and Pauline Fountia (Conner) Littlefield. Paul had seven siblings; he was the fourth born. Popeye was a BIG-HEARTED kind of guy. He was slow to speak, always had what we called the “Littlefield-Grin” and found good in everything. He grew up in Pryor, he and his family lived in the Cole Community area where he lives today. He attended Cole School and finished his last four years at Pryor High School, graduating in 1952. He then moved west towards OKC and worked in the oil fields as a Roughneck. He met the love of his life there in Oklahoma City, Nancy Gale Gundy, and they were married February 18, 1956. They celebrated their marriage of Sixty-five years this year. Popeye worked for Cherokee Nitrogen, now Pryor Chemical for several years and then went on to work for Terra Nitrogen as an “A” Operator retiring in 1995. His soul purpose to retire early in life was to devote to his favorite hobbies. He enjoyed diving for mussels, noodling for massive catfish, hunting and fishing. He also was an avid bird hunter. Most will know Popeye for his annual bountiful garden that had 100-foot rows of any vegetable. Those of us that help picked and canned knew exactly how long those rows were! He loved showing off his produce, selling what he could behind momma’s back and giving to his buddies. He was a HUGE sports fanatic. All sports, but he did have favorites, St. Louis Cardinals baseball, OU Sooners and OSU Cowboy’s football, you could ask him history of anyone of these teams and many more, he was on top of his game for all of them. He will be missed by many; he leaves behind wonderful memories for everyone and his legacy will not be forgotten.

He is survived by wife Nancy of the home, daughter Tonda Jean and husband Clay Rice of Pryor, son, Ray Dean and wife Pam Littlefield of Locust Grove, and son Dale Lynn Littlefield of Pryor. Brother, Danny Littlefield of Pryor, and a sister, Francine Neel of Foyil, Ok. He has eleven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren along with a host of many other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Pauline Littlefield, brothers Cecil, Frank Jr. and John D. Littlefield. Sisters, Noma Sue Taylor and Carol Jean Donaldson and a son, Paul Wayne Littlefield and a nephew, Robert (Bob) Littlefield.
