Peggy Louise Parsons

February 17, 1936 — December 13, 2022

Pryor

Peggy Louise Parsons, 86, of Pryor, passed away on Tuesday, December 13, 2022 in Pryor. She was born on February 17, 1936 in Pryor; the daughter of Carl and Moddrell (Brewer) Casey. She graduated from Pryor High School Class of 1954 and married the love of her life, Gerald Parsons on September 3, 1955 in Pryor at the age of 19 years old. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Pryor and was active in their Choir and taught Sunday School. She was a part of many Christmas and Easter programs. Peggy worked at Hope Lumber in Pryor for over 20 years, then to the State of Oklahoma and finally to GRDA where she retired in 1999. She was also active in the planning of the 2007 State of Oklahoma Centennial event that was held in Pryor and in her younger years was active in the planning of the class of Pryor High School 1954 school reunions. She was very interested in genealogy and traced her family back to the American Revolution, and because of her discovery was involved with the Daughters of the American Revolution. She loved researching so much, that she knew everyone’s family tree and where each person fit into the puzzle. Peggy was a great story teller and had an infectious laugh. No one could have a conversation with her without hearing such exclamations as “Great Gussy’s Ghost!”, “Heavens to Betsy” “Oh Gad” and “Heavens to Murgatroyd.” She enjoyed reading and watching the news. She leaves behind many memories and will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
