Ray Teigen Sr.'s Funeral Service Livestream
Ray Clinton Teigen Sr., a cherished husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away on Thursday, June 12, 2025, at his home. He was born on December 12, 1952, in Sioux City, Iowa, and through the years, he built a legacy marked by compassion, a love for family, and an undeniable sense of humor.
Ray is survived by his devoted wife, Terry Teigen, with whom he shared many joyful years. His legacy continues through his children: Jennifer Back and her husband Mike of Adair, OK, Ray Teigen Jr. of Pryor, OK; Stephanie Ward and her husband Jason of Locust Grove, OK; Becky Cowen and significant other Steve Bradshaw of Pryor, OK; and Tina Freisberg and her husband Colby of Catoosa, OK. He is also survived by his brother, Larry Millage; and mother-in-law, Joyce Ketterman. Ray was a proud grandfather, leaving behind nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. He also enjoyed the company of his beloved pets, which included two dogs, two cats, and a bird.
Ray is preceded in death by his mother, Luella (Smith) Teigen; his twin brother, Rex Teigen; and his sister, Sandra Ferguson. Their memories will forever be cherished by those who knew and loved him.
Ray had a myriad of interests that sparked joy and laughter among his family and friends. He was an enthusiastic golfer and fisherman, often finding peace and pleasure in these pastimes. As a lifelong fan of the Nebraska Cornhuskers, he shared his passion for sports with an infectious enthusiasm. Known affectionately among his coworkers as “Taco Ray,” his easy-going personality made him a delightful presence. His signature sense of humor was evident in his love for telling jokes, often starting conversations with the question, “Do you wanna hear a joke?” Furthermore, Ray was recognized as something of a jokester and prankster, always bringing laughter and light to those around him.
A true lover of animals, Ray was affectionately referred to as "Dr. Doolittle" by his family, who knew of his special bond. He will be remembered for his famous Mickey Mouse pancakes, which held a special place in the hearts of his family.
Funeral services for Ray will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, June 17, 2025, in the Shipman's Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Sam Wilson officiating. Interment will follow at Ross Mayes Cemetery in Salina with Ray Teigen Jr., Mike Back, Jason Ward, Brycen Cowen, Carter Back, and Scott Millage serving as casket bearers. A visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Monday, June 16, 2025, at Shipman's Funeral Home in Pryor.
