Reuben Harry

Reuben Orlando Harry, 61, passed from this life on Sunday, February 20, 2022 in Oklahoma City. He was born on January 5, 1961 in Claremore; the son of Claude Louis and Wilora Mae (Scuggins) Harry. He graduated from Jay High School with the class of 1979 and proudly served in the United States Army. In his younger years, he enjoyed playing video games with his kids. He loved doing Native American beadwork, going fishing, playing softball, and going to play bingo. He enjoyed hearing stories about his grandchildren and cherished receiving pictures of them. Reuben liked to work on cars, and enjoyed watching any OU game, especially football. He leaves behind many memories for all to cherish and will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Funeral services for Reuben will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, March 1, 2022, in the Shipman’s Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Richard Guy Soldier officiating. Burial will follow in the Ross-Mayes Cemetery with Devon Bell, Cameron Bell, Kobe Harry, Aron Harry, David Keltch, and Brandon Watt serving as casket bearers. Honorary casket bearers will be Junior Jones and Jaxon Louis James Watt. A wake service will be held from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Monday, February 28, 2022 in the Shipman’s Funeral Home Chapel. Reuben is survived by his sons, Derek Harry and wife Rachel of Salina, and CJ and Sharon Harry of Catoosa; his daughters, Sarah Jones and husband Junior of Salina, and Robin Harry and Brandon Watt of Broken Arrow; his sister, Claudia Budder of Jay; 13 grandchildren; 2 great- grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, Claude and Wilora; and sisters, Bettie Frazier and Sheridan “Shug” Chunestudey.
