Roland John Metivier

Roland John Metivier, born on May 3, 1944, in Lewiston, Maine, passed away on May 13, 2026, in Phoenix, Arizona. He lived a full life marked by his love of family and simple pleasures.

Roland was a devoted husband to Christina Carson-Metivier, whom he married on March 24, 1996. Together, they shared many wonderful years full of companionship and mutual care. He was also a father to five children: Roland "RJ" Metivier, II., of Locust Grove, Oklahoma; Timm Metivier and Wendy Harrell of Nevada; Michaela Metivier-Garcia and her husband Enrique of Northridge, California; Angelique Metivier and Eric Henderson of Connecticut; and Amiee Metivier of Green Bay, Wisconsin. He found great joy in spending time with his family, and his cherished granddaughter, Marielle Metivier, brought him much happiness.

Known for his love of animals, Roland was a dedicated pet lover who cared deeply for dogs and cats. Among his interests, he enjoyed playing blackjack, which added a bit of excitement to his leisure time. His cousin, Johnny Giguere of Florida, along with many other relatives, also survive him.

Roland was preceded in death by his parents, Oscar and Lucienne Metivier, and his infant brother, John Metivier. 

Funeral services for Roland will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, June 1, 2026, in the Shipman's Funeral Home Chapel with Father Valentine officiating. A visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Sunday, May 31, 2026, at Shipman's Funeral Home in Pryor. Interment will follow in the Fort Gibson National Cemetery.
