Ruby Faye Badley, 86. of Chouteau, a woman of strength, grace, and resilience, peacefully departed from this life on July 14, 2023 in Inola. Born on April 12, 1937, in the town of Mazie, Oklahoma, Ruby's remarkable journey through life was marked by her unwavering determination and unselfish love for her family. Ruby's story is one that inspires admiration and respect. At the tender age of 35, fate dealt her a tragic blow when she became a widow. In order to provide for her family, she courageously embarked on a new path as a barber at her own establishment known as Chouteau Barber Shop. For over three decades, Ruby dedicated herself to honing her craft and building lasting relationships with her clients. Her barber shop became more than just a place for haircuts; it was a sanctuary where stories were shared, laughter echoed through the walls, and friendships were forged. Beyond her professional accomplishments, Ruby was a woman of diverse interests and passions. In the quiet moments of her life, she found solace in tending to her beloved flowers. The vibrant colors and sweet fragrances brought her immense joy and served as a reflection of the beauty she radiated herself. Another cherished pastime for Ruby was sitting on her back porch, basking in tranquility while observing nature's wonders unfold. To pass the time with delight and excitement, Ruby also indulged in activities such as bingo. The thrill of anticipation filled the air as she daubed numbers on her cards with great precision. Additionally, Ruby found pleasure in watching both OSU football games and golf tournaments. She also looked forward to going fishing and spending time outdoors. Ruby's memory will forever be cherished by her loving family and the many lives she touched throughout her journey. Her vivacious spirit, compassionate nature, and dedication to those she held dear leave a mark on all who had the privilege of knowing her. Ruby will be missed but her legacy will endure through the countless stories shared by those who were fortunate enough to call her a friend or family.
To honor Ruby's memory and celebrate her remarkable life, visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, July 19, 2023 in the Shipman's Funeral Home Chapel.
