Russell Dale Richards

Russell Dale Richards passed away on Monday, August 17, 2026, in Strang, Oklahoma. He was born on October 20, 1980, in Pryor, Oklahoma, to Rusty Richards and Linda (Cook) Richards.

Russell had a curious spirit and enjoyed the things that made life interesting. He had a love for photography and enjoyed capturing the world around him through pictures. He was also fascinated by Bigfoot and loved spending time looking for signs of the legendary creature, an interest that brought him plenty of adventure and good stories along the way.

More than anything, Russell loved his family, especially his nieces and nephews. They held a special place in his heart, and the time he shared with them meant a great deal to him. Russell also treasured his friendships, including the special bond he shared with his best friend, JB Wilkins.

Russell is survived by his parents, Rusty and Linda (Cook) Richards; brothers, Edwin Richards and wife Liddie of Kenwood, Oklahoma, and Peter Richards of Strang, Oklahoma; grandfather, James Cook; uncles, Tommy and wife Karen of Florida, and Ken and Frankie Bennett of Alabama; nieces and nephews, Marisa Richards, Mallori Richards, Micah Richards, Natallie Richards, Jace Richards, and Elijah Beetz; best friend, JB Wilkins; along with other extended family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Slats and Francis Richards, Glen and Mary Jones, and Gerldine Cook; and his beloved dog, Dodge, who was a special companion to Russell.

Russell will be remembered for his love for his family, his passion for photography, his adventurous search for Bigfoot, and the memories he created with those who knew and loved him. His family and friends will carry those memories with them in the years to come.
