Samuel Ray McCollough, born on April 7, 1945, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, passed away at his home in Pryor, Oklahoma on Tuesday, October 17, 2023. He was a beloved husband, father, brother, and friend to many.

Samuel attended Lowell Jr. High and completed his high school education at East Central High School in Tulsa. He cherished the opportunity to reconnect with his old classmates and enjoyed the nostalgic conversations they shared.

A man of service and dedication, Samuel served his country with pride. He enlisted in the United States Army and Air Force before continuing his service in the National Guard. With unwavering commitment, he reached the rank of Staff Sergeant before retiring.

Outside of his military career, Samuel had a passion for collecting guns and spent countless hours tinkering with old cars and hot rods. These hobbies brought him immeasurable joy and allowed him to express his creativity and expertise.

Samuel was an active member of the Word Fellowship Church in Chouteau and enjoyed time spent with his church family. Additionally, he was honored to be a Mason & Akdar Shriner and held membership in the NRA.

Samuel leaves behind a legacy of love. He is survived by his loving wife, Jimmie Sue McCollough; daughter, Kellie Nevel and her husband Mark; as well as two sisters, Gail Faye Williams and Mary Sue Collum; granddaughter, Kacie Dawes and husband Trent; and great grandson, Braiden Walling.

He is preceded in death by his parents Samuel Bolby and Jewel (Arnett) McCollough; brother, Elbert McCollough, and Homer McCollough; and sister, Margie Richison. 

Sam’s End of Life Celebration services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, November 2, 2023, at Word Fellowship Church in Chouteau.
