Shannon Maryee Mapp passed away on Tuesday, August 4, 2026, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, at the age of 61. She was born on December 9, 1964, in Corona, California, to James C. and Jaqueline C. (George) Wilson.
Shannon had a kind and generous heart and found joy in the simple pleasures of life. She loved cooking and was happiest when preparing meals for family and friends. She enjoyed spending time at the creek, swimming, and hosting cookouts where everyone felt welcome. Shannon also had a creative spirit and enjoyed arts and crafts. She loved being surrounded by people and was known for her caring nature, often opening her home and her heart to those in need. Her warmth, compassion, and willingness to help others will be remembered by all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her father, James Wilson; maternal grandparents, David and Delcie George, and paternal grandparents, James Wilson Sr. and Georgia Wilson.
Shannon is survived by her children, Bradley Acosta and wife Kerie of Pryor, Oklahoma, Kristen Johnson and husband Christopher of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, and Michelle Acosta of Pryor, Oklahoma; mother, Jacqueline Wilson, of Pryor, OK; her sisters, Sherry Bailey and husband Hugh of Spavinaw, Oklahoma, and Cindy McKinney of Pryor, Oklahoma; her grandchildren, Emma Bias, Alex Bias, Addison Bias, Caden Bias, Jacy Peoples, Tuxie Peoples Jr., James Claude Acosta, Eva Acosta, Grayson Nickell, and Thomas Thompson; one great-grandchild; and her uncle, Wally George and wife Sondra of CA. She also leaves behind many other relatives and friends who will cherish her memory.
Shannon will be deeply missed for her loving heart, generous spirit, and the lasting impact she made on the lives of those she loved.
A memorial service honoring Shannon's life will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, August 19, 2026, at Shipman's Funeral Home Chapel located at 1204 NE 1st St. Pryor, Oklahoma with Pastor Andy Pilant officiating.
