Steve Kent Waldschmidt, 73, of Adair, passed away on Thursday, December 16, 2021 in Tulsa. He was born on June 19, 1948 in Enid, Oklahoma; the son of Walter and Lois (Blankenship) Waldschmidt. Steve married DiAnna Lynn Halsey on July 21, 1968 in Anthony, Kansas and they have celebrated 53 years of marriage. He faithfully served his country in the Army National Guard. Steve was an educator, mechanic and farmer. He was a faithful supporter of the Adair FFA, Sequoyah FFA, Ducks Unlimited, and the Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation. Steve enjoyed farming and working on his land, watching basketball, playing pitch with his family and friends, and spending time with his grandchildren. If you knew Steve, you would understand his love for talking politics and his occasional ornery streak. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Alva and has lived in the Adair area for 9 years, coming from Alva. He was a wonderful husband, father, Papa, brother and friend and leaves behind many memories for his family and friends to cherish.
Visitation for Steve will be held on Tuesday, December 21, 2021 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Shipman’s Funeral Home in Pryor. Steve is survived by his wife, DiAnna Waldschmidt of the home; daughters, Shelly Stoffel and husband Chad of Collinsville, Oklahoma and Amanda Waldschmidt Grubbs of Claremore, Oklahoma; 4 grandchildren, Kelsey, Tanner, Madison, and Kathryn; brother, Harold Waldschmidt and wife Mary of Waldron, Kansas and Mark Waldschmidt and wife Patty of Waldron, Kansas; and many other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Lois Waldschmidt.
