Theresa Gale Holler, 82, of Pryor, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully, leaving behind a lifetime of love, laughter, hard work, and memories that will be cherished by all who knew her.

Theresa was born February 2, 1944, in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma, along with her twin brother, Jack, to Ray G. and Laverne Dryden (Gideon). In 1960, she moved with her family from Ada, Oklahoma, to Pryor, Oklahoma, which would become her lifelong home. She graduated from Pryor High School in 1962 and married James Holler on August 23, 1963. Together, they made their home in Pryor and raised their two daughters, Sherri and Cindy.

Theresa was well known throughout Pryor for her many years as an interior finishes sales representative. She worked for Sherwin Williams, TapJac, and finally Pryor Carpets, where she built lasting relationships with customers and became a familiar and trusted face in the community. She was a woman who could outwork any man and could fix almost anything. If something needed to be done, Theresa figured out how to do it. Whether it was fixing something around the house, working in the yard, or tackling a project that perhaps wasn't exactly “up to code,” she wasn't afraid to get her hands dirty and get the job done.

Theresa loved being outdoors and took great pride in her yard and flower beds. She enjoyed spending time working outside and could often be found mowing on her John Deere zero-turn, keeping everything looking just the way she wanted it. She loved a good game of Spades, dominoes, or horseshoes and, in her younger years, played fast-pitch softball on a women's team with her sister Ginny. She enjoyed going to the casino and trying her luck at the slot machines, always willing to give that next machine a chance. Theresa was also an avid Elvis fan and had a few firm beliefs about the necessities of life. One of them was that Pepsi was less of a beverage and more of a basic life necessity. Water was fine for everyone else, but as far as Theresa was concerned, Pepsi would keep you going just fine.

Her love for children and family was evident throughout her life. At one time, Theresa drove the church bus, making her rounds throughout town to pick up children and bring them to church. In her younger years, she kept the neighborhood kids busy with crafts, s'mores, and plenty of games of kick the can. Her home was a place where kids were welcomed, fed, entertained, and loved. If you were lucky enough to sit down at Theresa's table, you were going to be fed. Her favorite meal was brown beans, fried potatoes, and cornbread, but she was famous in the family for her potato salad and chocolate sheet cake. She loved making popcorn balls, and when her grandchildren came along, Halloween at Grandma Theresa's meant chili dogs, Frito chili pies, and plenty of candy for all the little “spooksters.”

Above all else, Theresa was a devoted family woman. She loved her grandchildren, Samantha and Aaron (AJ), with her whole heart. Her great-grandchildren, Waylon Buller and Sunny Hammons, held an especially precious place in her heart, and she treasured every opportunity to spend time with them. She and Waylon went on some epic adventures with her sister Ginny and her great-granddaughter Abbey. Theresa loved her family fiercely and did whatever she could for them—whether they asked for her help or not.

Theresa is survived by her daughter, Sherri Vermeer, and husband Scott; granddaughter Samantha Hammons and husband Nathan; grandson Aaron James Snyder; great-grandchildren Waylon Buller and Sunny Hammons; brothers Charlie Dryden and wife Barbara, Jack Dryden and wife Karen, and Ron Dryden; sisters Ginny Trost, Mary Elliott and husband Terry; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ray and Laverne Dryden; her husband, James Holler; and her daughter, Cindy Holler.

Theresa lived a life full of family, friendship, hard work, laughter, good food, games, Elvis, Pepsi, and more than a little bit of determination. She was feisty, capable, generous, fiercely loyal, and loved deeply. Her family will remember her in the simple things: a plate of brown beans and cornbread, a bowl of her famous potato salad, a piece of chocolate sheet cake, a popcorn ball at Halloween, a game of Spades or dominoes, an Elvis song playing in the background, the hum of her John Deere in the yard, and the unmistakable presence of a woman who was always busy taking care of someone or something. While our hearts are broken by her absence, we find comfort knowing that Theresa is rejoicing in Heaven with the family and friends who went before her.

A memorial service honoring Theresa's life will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday August 17, 2026, at Shipman's Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Andy Pilant officiating.
