Hulbert (Spavinaw)

Tony Mouse "Do-o-ni" "Tsi-s-de-tsi", a beloved member of the Pryor community, has passed away at the age of 88. Born on May 5, 1935, in Wickliffe, Oklahoma, Tony had a remarkable life filled with love, hard work, and an unwavering commitment to his family and community. Tony dedicated many years of his life to his career as a core setter at Pryor Foundry. Outside of his professional life, Tony cherished the simple joys that life had to offer. He married the love of his life, Betty Mouse, in 1960, and together they built a beautiful life filled with love and laughter. Tony's heart shattered when Betty passed away in 2018. Their bond was unbreakable, and their love for one another was evident to all who knew them. Tony had a deep appreciation for the outdoors and spent many hours tending to his yard and tinkering around the house. He was known for his knack for fixing things. Tony's hands were never idle; he found solace in working with his hands and took great pride in everything he accomplished. Another passion that brought immense joy to Tony's life was music and enjoyed playing the guitar. Tony's faith was also an essential aspect of his life. As a devoted member of the Ribbon Baptist Church in Spavinaw, Oklahoma, he found strength in the community of fellow believers who shared his devotion to God. The church was not just a place of worship for Tony; it was a second home where he felt a deep sense of belonging and purpose. Tony was a member of the Spavinaw Community and was also a Cherokee First Language speaker. Before his successful career and the joys that came with family, Tony served his country with honor and bravery in the United States Navy. He dedicated two years of his life to the service, serving on the USS Yorktown, then finished Navy stint at NAS Kingsville, Texas. Tony's journey began in Oakland, California, where he boarded the ship. His time in the navy shaped him into the resilient and disciplined man he became. Tony Mouse will forever be remembered as a compassionate husband, a hardworking individual who went above and beyond for those he loved. His legacy lives on through his family and all those who had the privilege of knowing him. As we mourn his loss, let us also celebrate the remarkable life he lived - a life that left an indelible mark on all who were fortunate enough to cross paths with this extraordinary man.
