Vernon Fay McClain of Chouteau, Oklahoma, was born on March 20, 1946, in Forum, Arkansas. He passed away on Sunday, October 29, 2023, at the age of 77, in Eufuala, Oklahoma. He was a man of great character and left behind countless cherished memories.
Vernon lived his life with simplicity and sincerity, earning the respect and love of those around him. He was known as a wonderful brother to his siblings and brought joy and happiness into their lives.
Throughout his life, Vernon found joy in various hobbies and interests. He had a green thumb and had a natural talent for gardening. The sight of blooming flowers brought him peace and fulfillment. Additionally, he had admiration for horses, finding comfort in their presence. However, his true love was reserved for his furry friends; dogs held a special place in his heart.
He is survived by his sisters Shirley Gardner-McClain and husband Ronald Smith of Chouteau, OK, and Anna Jean Bodenhamer of Napa, Idaho; two sons; and stepson, Randy Puckett.
Vernon is preceded in death by his father, Charlie McClain; brother, Larry Paul McClain; and his grandparents, William "Bill" and Virgie McClain.
Vernon's kind and gentle spirit touched the hearts of many, and his memory will live on in the minds of all who had the privilege to know him.
