Virginia Lee Kemp, 89, of Pryor, Oklahoma, passed this life on Tuesday, February 23, 2021, in Pryor, Oklahoma. She was born on September 22, 1931 in Augusta, Arkansas, the daughter of Benjamin Simmons and Agnes (Ash) Simmons. Upon graduation she moved to Wichita, Kansas where she met her future husband, Guy R. Kemp. They married in Wichita, Kansas on October 20, 1951, moving to Pryor in 1956. Virginia worked for the Pryor Schools at Jefferson Elementary in the cafeteria for many years. She was an active member of the Life Fellowship Church. She loved church activities, going on trips with the church group, the Hilltoppers, and loving on babies in the nursery. Virginia enjoyed traveling with her best friends, Marilyn Keith and Frances McNair. She enjoyed cooking for her kids and grandkids. She loved sporting events, especially if her grandchildren were playing. Virginia was a wonderful Godly woman who spent her life caring for all those she loved, leaving special memories in each heart to cherish.
Funeral Services for Virginia will be held on Friday, February 26, 2021 at 10 a.m. in the Life Fellowship Church with Reverend Scott Neighbors officiating. Interment will follow in the Graham Memorial Cemetery with David Guinn, Caleb Hill, Miles Bacon, Cory Vann, Bruce Roberts and Troy McNair serving as casket bearers. The family asks that memorials be made to Life Fellowship Children’s Building Fund in her memory in lieu of flowers. She is survived by her children, Mark and wife, Rebecca Kemp of Pryor, OK and Debbie and husband, Kelvin Guinn of Pryor, OK; her grandchildren, Kayla and husband Caleb Hill, Kortney and husband, Miles Bacon, Kelsey and husband Cory Vann, Lindsey Guinn and David and wife, Allyson Guinn; great grandchildren, Ryleigh Hill, Raigen Hill, Blair Bacon and Renlee Bacon; and two new little ones on the way; many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Guy R. Kemp; her parents, Benjamin and Agnes Simmons; her son Richard Kemp; siblings, Hugh “H.D.” Simmons, William “Bill” Simmons, Dovie Corinne Simmons, Floyd “Buddy” Simmons, Jimmie Ray “Tom” Simmons, Arnold “Boots” Simmons, John Robert Simmons, Annie Mae Simmons.
