Wanda May Rogers, 86, of Locust Grove, passed away on Monday, March 7, 2022 surrounded by her family in Salina, Oklahoma. She was born on May 29, 1935 in Salina, Oklahoma; the daughter of Carl Willis and Eunice (Rockwell) Ward. She married the love of her life, Billy Rogers, on March 3, 1951 in Bartlesville, Oklahoma and celebrated 70 years of marriage before Billy’s passing in 2021. Wanda had a strong faith and loved her Lord with everything she had. She loved spending time praying and reading her bible. She wanted to teach the gospel and share God’s word. She also loved music and playing the guitar, singing, and in her later years, playing the piano. She was a member of the Timber Grove Holiness Church in Leach. Wanda liked to garden and spend time with her family, and looked forward to family gatherings. She leaves behind many memories for her family to cherish.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, March 10, 2022 in the Pentecostal Church of God in Pryor with Reverend Ronald Cooper officiating. Burial will follow in the Ross-Mayes Cemetery with Marlin Rogers, Andrew Wilkins, Dewayne Rogers, Dr. David Wilkins, Jr., John Rogers, Jr., and Michael Spencer serving as casket bearers. Honorary casket bearers will be Reverend Floyd Parks and Reverend Carl Parsons. Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 9, 2022 at Shipman’s Funeral Home in Pryor. Wanda is survived by her sons, Geryle Rogers and wife Nadine of Inola, Oklahoma, John Rogers and wife, Janell of Locust Grove, Oklahoma, and Bobby Rogers and wife Kristine of Sturtevant, Wisconsin; daughter, Geneva Wilkins and husband David of Locust Grove, Oklahoma; 17 grandchildren; and numerous great and great-great grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, Carl and Eunice Ward; husband, Billy Rogers; son, Larry Gene Rogers; daughter, Pamela Sue Rogers; granddaughter, Dacia Wilkins; grandson, Jack Jones; and great grandson, Michael Bark, ll.
