Billie Stafford

Billie Merle Stafford, 81, of Pryor, passed away on Tuesday, September 22, 2020 in Claremore, Oklahoma. She was born on October 15, 1938 in Dewar, Oklahoma; the daughter of Charles Higbee and Maymie Lee Walker. Billie was a hairdresser for most of her life and owned Billie’s Kut & Kurl in Pryor. On July 9, 1955, Billie married the love of her life, Delma Wayne Stafford in Pryor. They spent 65 wonderful years together. She was artistic and enjoyed crocheting, ceramics, and pottery. Billie was a proud member of the Chouteau Church of Christ and enjoyed attending church services and events. She was a wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother who leaves behind many wonderful memories for her family to cherish.

Services for Billie will be held on Friday, September 25, 2020, at the Chouteau Church of Christ at 2:00 p.m. with Brother Doug Dingley reading the obituary and Brother Steve Lay officiating. Burial to follow at Fairview Cemetery in Pryor, Oklahoma. Visitation will be Thursday, September 24, 2020 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Shipman’s Funeral Home. Billie is survived by her husband, Delma Stafford, of the home; sons, Mark Stafford of Pryor, Oklahoma, and Michael Stafford of Tulsa, Oklahoma; daughter, Susan Kennedy and husband Steve of Fort Worth, Texas; 6 grandchildren, and 12 great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Maymie; brother, Charles Walker; and sister, Florence Smoot.
