Dale Herron

Dale Lee Herron, 69, of Claremore, OK passed away on Thursday, May 5th, 2022. Born in Gothenburg, Nebraska on May 18, 1952, Dale was the second child of Ancel and Betty Herron. His family moved throughout the midwest and Dale spent his childhood in Nebraska, Michigan and Indiana. He loved the outdoors and spent much of his youth hunting and fishing with his dad, later sharing that passion with his children. Dale was outgoing, irreverent, adventurous, and fun. He loved to cook, making food to share with those he cared about and wasn't shy about saying "is that killer or what" when he thought he'd created something delicious.

Dale met his first wife while stationed at Nellis Airforce Base in Las Vegas, Nevada. They had 6 children together and later divorced. His time in Las Vegas brought the opportunity to grow in his career in casino management which led him to move his family to New York and Oklahoma. Eventually, he settled in Oklahoma but split his time at his cabin in Mountain, Wisconsin. In 2020, Dale married Portia who was his loving partner for many years, so it was long overdue when they finally tied the knot.

Dale is survived by his wife, Portia, his children Jacob, Gabrielle, Jessica, Lydia, Kirby, and Mollie, along with their spouses and 10 grandchildren. He is also survived by his constant companion, Boodle, the sweetest little dog with the worst breath. He is predeceased by his parents and his older sister Debra. We hope that they've had a joyful reunion.
