David Elkins

December 9, 1946 — December 29, 2020

David Earl Elkins, 74, of Muskogee, Oklahoma, passed away on Tuesday, December 29, 2020 in Fort Smith, Arkansas.  He was born on December 9, 1946 in Porter, Oklahoma, the son of Nathan Earl Elkins and Mary Ann (Nash) Elkins.  David faithfully served his Country for 20 years and 3 days in the United States Army attaining the rank of Sergeant First Class.  He married Dolly Rager on September 9, 1995 in Phoenix, Arizona.  David worked as a warehouse manager for Walsh Brothers Office Equipment for many years. David enjoyed silversmithing, woodworking and shooting.  He also worked on and built computers.  He loved the outdoors and going camping anytime he could.  David was a loving husband, father and grandfather who leaves wonderful memories for all to remember and cherish.

David will be interred in the Fort Gibson National Cemetery at Fort Gibson, Oklahoma.  To leave his family a personal message please see his Tribute at www.shipmansfuneralhome.com.  Arrangements are under the direction of Shipman’s Funeral & Cremation Service.

David is survived by his wife, Dolly of the home; his son, Tracy and wife, Tracie Elkins of Tulsa, OK; brother, Norman Elkins of OK; sisters, Francie Harvey of IN, Beverly Barney of OK, Vickie Bauer of LA, Linda Pann of TX, and Marie Williams and husband, Earnie of OK; 2 grandchildren, Alisan Elkins and Nathan Elkins; great grandchild, Spencer Ryan; many other relatives and friends.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Nathan and Mary Ann Elkins; sister, Sheila Jordan.
