Dennis Alfred True, 75, of Pryor, passed away Monday, January 24, 2022 in Tulsa. He was born on October 10, 1946 in Pryor, Oklahoma; the son of Earl Merton and Emma (Keith) True. Dennis grew up on a farm east of Pryor and attended Cole Strang and Pryor Schools. He served his country in the United States Army National Guard, joining at the age of 16, one month before his 17th birthday. Dennis was proud of his marksmanship badge he earned while in the National Guard. He spent over 51 wonderful years with his wife, Wanda. Dennis and Wanda raised 5 children. Dennis enjoyed spending time outdoors, especially when he was able to go hunting, fishing and spending time gardening. Dennis was a diesel mechanic and worked at D.A. George Equipment, Ellsworth Truck Lines, Pam Transportation, and Frank and Son’s. He also spent over 20 years at Case Foundry, where he was a melting Supervisor. He loved to spend time with his children and grandchildren. Dennis leaves behind many memories for his family to remember.

Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, January 28, 2022 in the Shipman’s Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Andy Pilant officiating. Dennis is survived by his sons, Scott True and wife Kathy of Locust Grove, Oklahoma, James True and wife Kristina of Inola, Oklahoma, and Tommy True of Claremore, Oklahoma; daughters, Tracy True of Bixby, Oklahoma and Tammy True and fiancé Chad Qualls of Pryor, Oklahoma; 16 grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren; brothers, L.W. True and wife Steve Anna of Pryor, Oklahoma and Boyd True of Pryor, Oklahoma; sister, Bernice Baisden of Claremore, Oklahoma; and sister in law, Ann Clampett of Claremore, Oklahoma. He is preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Emma True; wife, Wanda True; brothers, John True, Ed True and Lawton True; grandson, Brady Trent; great grandchildren, Ryan and Tegan Dennis; and son in law, Scott Page.
