Dorothy Ruth Blevins, 87, of Salina, passed away on Sunday, September 1, 2019 in Salina. She was born on October 7, 1931 in Wichita Falls, Texas; the daughter of George and Cora (Gill) Walden. Dorothy married Roe Douglas Blevins on August 20, 1950 in Wichita Falls, Texas and celebrated 58 years of marriage before his passing. She earned her nursing degree and worked in the nursing field most of her life in California. Dorothy loved gardening and spending time tending to her flowers and vegetables. She had rows of daffodils in her yard and enjoyed seeing them each day at her home. She also enjoyed crocheting. She made many blankets for her family and also enjoyed making beanie caps for newborns for Hastings Hospital in Tahlequah. Dorothy was a member of the First Lutheran Church in Tahlequah and enjoyed attending services there. She was loved by many and leaves behind many wonderful memories and will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

Memorial services will be held at 1:30 p.m., Sunday, September 8, 2019 in the East Pavilion at Whitaker Park in Pryor. Dorothy is survived by her sons, Gerald Blevins of Downey, California, Bryan Blevins and wife Kim of Riverside, California, and Mark Blevins and wife Michele of Salina, Oklahoma; daughter, Janis Gonzales and husband Richard of Downey, California; brothers, Michael Walden and wife Sheila of Rock Port, Texas and Duane Walden of Texas; 11 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. Dorothy is preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Douglas Blevins; parents, George and Cora Walden; son, Scott Blevins; 2 sisters, and 5 brothers.
