Dorothy Jean Rye, 80, an Adair resident, departed from this life on Thursday, February 18, 2021 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. She was born on May 13, 1940 in Visalia, California; the daughter of Fredrick Andrew Warren and Ruby Dorothy (Crawford) Warren. On November 10, 1960, Jean married the love of her life, Gerald Lee Rye, in Las Vegas. They have spent the last 61 years together and have 3 children: Darrell, Steve, and Jeanne. In 1972, the family moved to Oklahoma and settled here in Adair. Jean was a loving mother, who cared and took care of everybody. She was an avid OSU and NASCAR fan. Jean loved to cook for her family, she had over 500 cookbooks, which she loved to collect. Jean also loved traveling, her and Gerald had traveled to every state except 3. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend who will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Jean is survived by her husband, Gerald, of the home; sons, Darrell Rye and wife Bonnie and Steve Rye and wife Mary; daughter, Jeanne Lutz and husband Chris; sister, Ruth Sanderson and husband Bob; brother, James Warren and Susie Ollar and Fred Warren; 6 grandchildren, Steven Rye Jr., Cassie Rye, Clint Lutz, Bucky Gilpin, Becky Ohler, and Brady Gilpin; and 12 great grandchildren all of Adair, Oklahoma. She is preceded in death by her parents, Fredrick and Ruby; sister in laws, Claudette Warren and Anita Warren; and brother, John Warren.
