Douglas Brasher

Douglas Boyd Brasher was born on November 29, 1956 in Paradise California to Arthur and Betty Brasher. He passed away on August 5, 2020 in Tahlequah, Oklahoma. He married Terri Brasher on July 3, 1989 and lived in California for several years until they moved to Oklahoma, where they made their home in Rose. Doug worked most of his life as a Truck Driver. He was a longtime member of the Northern California Trucker’s Union Local #150. His hobbies included listening to music, showing off his 1958 Chevy Suburban, attending drag races, riding motorcycles, spoiling his pets and making everyone around him laugh. He loved spending time with his grandkids and had nicknames for them all. Doug had a great sense of humor and loved to visit with those around him, he never met a stranger and you always knew where you stood with him. He loved his family and spending time with them was the most important thing to him.

Doug is survived by his wife, Terri Brasher of Rose; sons, Jeremiah Brasher and wife Angie of Elk Grove, California; Robert Kirchner and wife Sandra of Salina, Oklahoma and David Kirchner and wife Heather of Mulvane, Kansas; daughters, Jeanne Roe and husband David of Lumberton, Texas and Carrie Curtis and husband James of Salina, Oklahoma; 18 Grandchildren and one Great Grandson.;  his brother Mark Brasher of Chelsea, Oklahoma; nieces,nephews and many other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Betty Brasher and his sister Kathy Rogers.

Graveside services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Monday, August 10, 2020 in the Rose Cemetery in Rose, Oklahoma. Casket Bearers will be his grandsons, Johnny, Matthew, Donovan, Nick, Grant, and nephew Ben. Honorary Casket Bearers will be Josh, Daniel, Ethan, Gavin, Andrew, Wade, Warren, Rhett and Anthony. Visitation will be held from 3:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m., Sunday, August 9, 2020 at Shipman’s Funeral Home. To leave his family a message, please visit his Tribute Wall at www.shipmansfuneralhome.com.
