Edward Waters

Edward Ray Waters, 78, of Okmulgee, passed from this life on Friday, October 9, 2020 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He was born on February 7, 1942 in Muskogee, Oklahoma; the son of Carl Edward and Beverlyn Truephina (Hooper) Waters. Ed faithfully served our country in the United States Army during the Korean War. In 1962, Ed married the love of his life, Bettie Jean Brassfield, and they have spent almost 57 years together. He was a proud member of the American Legion and the VFW of Mannford. Ed was a man of few words, but always had a commendable work ethic and provided for his family. He enjoyed collecting hot wheels, and fishing for catfish in Lake Hudson and Lake Keystone. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather who will be dearly missed but leaves behind many wonderful memories for his family to cherish.

Ed is survived by his wife, Bettie, of the home; daughter, Laura Embrey and husband Bill of Okmulgee, Oklahoma; brother, Roger McCollum of Crossett, Arkansas; sisters, Joyce Phillips and husband Jimmy of Okmulgee, Oklahoma, and Brenda McCollum of Texas; 2 grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Beverlyn; and daughter, Diane Truephina Waters.
