Eliza Deere

Eliza Mae Deere, 78, of Kansas, Oklahoma, passed from this life on Wednesday, September 9, 2020 in Muskogee, Oklahoma. She was born on June 12, 1942 in Kenwood, Oklahoma; the daughter of Reverend Bert Spade and Polly (Buck) Spade. On June 1, 1966, Eliza married the love of her life, James, in Oklahoma City. Together, they had 3 children; Lance, Bert, and Connie. She was a member of New Jordan Church and was a deaconess there. She was regularly active in her church family and was a member of the Women’s Missionary Union. Eliza was also a sponsor for Oaks Mission School. She enjoyed crocheting, crossword puzzles, and above all spending time with her family and friends. A loving wife, mother, and grandmother who leaves behind many memories for her family to cherish.

Funeral services for Eliza will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, September 16, 2020 in Shipman’s Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Stanley Grass officiating and Buddy Ross reading the obituary. Burial to follow at Grass Cemetery with Stanley Ross, Jesse Grant, Sequoiah Price, Dalton Downing, Kristian Davis, and Erik Bird serving as casket bearers. Honorary casket bearers will be Gordon Snell, Alex Proctor, Nolan “Tat” Ross, Jesse Grant, Timmy Spade, and Tony Spade. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 15, 2020 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Shipman’s Funeral Home. Eliza is survived by her husband, James Deere, Jr. of the home; sons, Lance Deere of Kansas, Oklahoma, and Bert “Scooter” Deere and Lydia Summerfield; daughter, Connie Deere of Kansas, Oklahoma; 13 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, Bert and Polly; sister, Mary Grant; brothers, Homer Spade, Everett Spade, and Johnny Spade; and great granddaughter, Kaylee White.
