Helen Smith

Helen Irene Smith, 87, of Pryor, passed away on Monday, January 10, 2022 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. She was born on October 31, 1934 in Mayes County; the daughter of Carl and Goldie (Pippin) Qualls. She married the love of her life, Martin Smith on August 30, 1952 in Pryor, and together have celebrated 69 years of marriage. She was a military wife, they lived in Rhode Island and San Diego, during Martin’s military service. Helen was a wonderful cook, but her family looked forward to her cherry pies the most, and the Thanksgiving meals she always insisted on preparing for her family. She also enjoyed sewing and spending time with her grandchildren. She leaves behind many wonderful memories and will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

Helen is survived by her husband, Martin Smith of the home; son, Kenny Smith and wife Gina of Pryor, Oklahoma; brother, Jackie Qualls of Pryor, Oklahoma; sister, Mary Sue Qualls of Pryor, Oklahoma; 3 grandchildren; 1 great grandchild; and many other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, Carl and Goldie Qualls; son, Michael Smith; brothers, Kenneth Qualls, OE Qualls, and Joseph Qualls; and sister, Mildred Qualls.
