Kenneth Edwin Sheats, 84, of Pryor, went to his heavenly home on Friday, April 8, 2022, at his home surrounded by family. He was born on March 15, 1938, in Kaufman County, Texas; the son of Nick and Willie (Blain) Sheats. When Kenneth was 6 years old his family packed up and moved to Kellyville, Oklahoma, then later to Verdigris, where he attended school from 1 st – 8 th grade. He then attended Claremore High School before moving to Pryor his junior year. Soon after moving to Pryor, he met his neighbor and future wife of 64 years, Carolyn Trogdon. After graduation they married and started their family of 4 children. Kenneth worked at Boeing Engineering and Oklahoma Steel before purchasing a dairy near Big Cabin. After 3 years, Kenneth and Carolyn sold the dairy, and he began working for Georgia Pacific and retired from there after 39 years. He enjoyed fishing, reading, working on crossword puzzles, and drawing. He was very talented in wood working with both skills in carving and building. Kenneth was very proud of his projects such as kitchen cabinet and his dining room table. His oldest brother was KIA during WWII, and this sparked an interest for researching the 90th Bomber Group. Throughout the years, he found and contacted some of the other members. Kenneth served on the Osage School Board as treasurer for several years while his children attended the school. In his retirement he learned to use the computer and spent many hours researching genealogy. Upon moving into town, he enjoyed feeding and watching the birds from his back patio. Kenneth looked forward to visits from his many grandchildren, and great grandchildren. He was a devoted husband, loving father and grandfather, and wonderful friend to many who leaves behind many cherished memories and will never be forgotten.
