Lady Anne Downum, 92, of Salina, passed away on Saturday, July 4, 2020 in Tulsa. She was born on June 6, 1928 in Sikeston, Missouri; the daughter of C.E. Burrus and Lady Gale (Hart) Burrus. Anne had worked in the Mayes County area for many years, but most will remember her from her time at Lakeside Bank in Salina. She was married to the love of her life, Lester Jefferson Downum, Jr., who has preceded her in death. Anne enjoyed genealogy, traveling, and cats. More than anything, Anne looked forward to hosting holidays at her home, especially Thanksgiving, which was the biggest. She loved being with her family and spending time with those she loved most. Anne leaves behind many wonderful memories and will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

Due to Covid -19, Graveside services will be private in the Fairview Cemetery. Casket bearers will be Jeffrey Wood, Jacob Knoedl, Travis Taylor, Hardy Winburn, Charles Downum, and Danny Downum. Come and go visitation will be held from 12:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, July 7, 2020 at Shipman’s Funeral Home. Anne is survived by her daughters, Lady Denee Walls of Bryant, Arkansas and Deborah Wood and husband Doug of Durant, Oklahoma; sister, Patricia Lawson of Mobile, Alabama; brother-in-law, Gordon Downum of Lubbock, Texas; sister -in-law, Ann Downum of Claremore, Oklahoma; 4 grandchildren, Jennifer Winburn, Jeffrey Wood, Ashley Wood, and Rebecca Taylor; 5 great grandchildren, and many other loved relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, C.E. and Lady Gale Burrus and husband, Lester Downum.

There will be a public Celebration of Anne's life in 2021. Details to come at a future date.
