Naomi Thompson - Brown

December 9, 1927 — January 13, 2021

Naomi Faye Thompson Brown, 93, of Owasso, ascended to Heaven on Wednesday, January 13, 2021 in Tulsa, Oklahoma, from Covid 19. Naomi, the fifth of five children, was born to Gilbert Webster and Anna (Bell) Thompson, on December 9, 1927.  Naomi was born and raised on her father’s original Choctaw allotment in Wilson, Carter County, Oklahoma. Naomi was proud of her Native American heritage and was a member of the Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma.

Naomi could ride a horse, sew a dress, paint the house, make butter, and play the piano. There was not too much Naomi could not do once she set her mind to it.

Naomi’s Christian faith, built on a solid foundation, was her comfort and reference for handling life’s tribulations. Naomi shared the teachings of Jesus Christ with family, friends and would stress the importance of what a strong faith could provide during troubled times.

Many memories were made at Naomi’s house when family and friends gathered for boisterous conversations, homemade desserts and the always anticipated HUGE pot of spaghetti. Naomi’s wit, humor and straight-forward opinions were often the cause of wild outbursts of laughter and interesting, memorable conversations.

Naomi’s spare bedroom, dubbed “Motel Six”, was always open to everyone, whether the stay was for a few months or a much-needed quick nap.

Best of all, Naomi loved her family and always had open doors for her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Naomi was a sweet, truly exceptional, and one-of-a-kind person. Naomi was a true friend to many.

Naomi is preceded in death by parents, Webb and Anna; sisters, Lorraine, Ruth and Dorothea Jean; a brother Webster and many life-long friends.

Naomi is survived by her three children; Charlotte Bradford of Tulsa, Charles Webster Brown (Marlinda) of Albuquerque, New Mexico, and Jennifer Carol (Richard) Wilson of Chouteau. Naomi has a slew of grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren.
