Ola Blaine

Ola Genevia Blaine, 87, of Pryor, Oklahoma, passed away on Friday, July 8, 2011 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. She was born on December 27, 1923 in Eucha, Oklahoma in Delaware, County the daughter of Willie Mitchell and Charlotte (Welch) Mitchell. She married William Blaine on March 17, 1941 at Salina, Oklahoma. They later divorced. She married Joe Patterson who preceded her in death after many years of marriage. She later remarried William Blaine until his death in 2008. During WWII she worked for Nelson doing ship assembly on Liberty and Victory Ships. She also engraved Purple Hearts and Silver Stars. She retired from Zebco in Tulsa, Oklahoma after working in assembly and in Quality Control for many years. Ola and Nola went to church at Dry Creek and Eucha, walking every Sunday to Sunday School. She enjoyed going fishing and cooking. Ola was a lovely lady who will be so very missed by all who knew and loved her. Funeral Services will be held on Monday, July 11, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. in the Shipman's Funeral Chapel with Reverend Jerold Pilant officiating. Interment will be in the Spavinaw-Strang Cemetery at Spavinaw, Oklahoma with Eddie Blaine, Tony Usrey serving as casket bearers. She is survived by her sons, Eddie Blaine and Larry Wallace; grandsons, Tony Usrey of Jay, OK, Rodney Wallace of Fort Smith, AR and Ed Wallace of Park Hill, OK; granddaughter, Rhonda Kates of Alpharetta, GA; 12 great grandchildren; sister, Nola King of Portland, OR; nieces, Evelyn, Darlene, Ruby, Karen, Dinah Lelia, Susie, Billie June, Claudene and Joyce; nephews, Lonus, Paul, Claude and Butch; many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husbands, her parents; her sisters, Frances Hancock and Gurthie Studers; her brothers, Ollis, Buster (Edgar) and Billy Mitchell.
