Ramona Wood

Ramona Kay Wood, 68, of Tulsa, Oklahoma passed away on August 14, 2019 in Tulsa. She was born on November 26, 1950 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. She married Mike Wood on June 4, 1971 in Tulsa and moved to Memphis, Tennessee, while Mike finished his military service in the United States Navy. She worked as a church secretary for a number of years, and was active in the WMU (Women’s Missionary Union) and Strang Baptist Church, where her husband, Mike, is the pastor. Ramona enjoyed studying scripture, teaching God’s word, and arts and crafts. Above all, Ramona enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She leaves behind many wonderful memories and will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, August 20, 2019 in the First Baptist Church in Langley, Oklahoma with Pastor Leon Shade and Pastor Davies Vanpool officiating. Burial will be held in the Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Monday, August 19, 2019 in the Shipman’s Funeral Home Chapel. Ramona is survived by her husband, Mike Wood of the home; son, Jeffrey Wood and wife Quinlan of Allen, Texas; daughter, Holly Bowman and husband Scott of Coweta, Oklahoma; sister, Cathy Reese and husband Randy of Tulsa, Oklahoma; 7 grandchildren, Michael, Keron, Colter, Maggie, Willa, Wilder, and Finley; nieces, Cassey Tipton of Tulsa, Oklahoma and Tamara Reese of Tulsa, Oklahoma; cousin, Trudy Milner of Tulsa, Oklahoma; and many other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, Ernie and Kay Shellhammer.
