Walter Blackfox

March 25, 1951 — November 2, 2020

Walter Dean Blackfox, 69, passed from this life on November 2, 2020 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He was born on March 25, 1951 in Strang, Oklahoma; the son of Ike Blackfox and Julia Grass. He grew up in the Strang area for most of his life. Walter joined the United States Military and faithfully served our country in the Marines as a postmaster. He enjoyed fishing with his sisters, playing softball and horseshoes, and listening to music. Walter always had a smile on his face and was always laughing. Above all else, his family meant the world to him and he loved spending time with them. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Funeral services for Walter will be held at 2:00 p.m., on Wednesday, November 11, 2020 at Westside Mission Church in Spavinaw, Oklahoma, with Pastor Joe West and Pastor Clifford Loftis, Sr. officiating. Burial will follow at Jack Ribbon Cemetery with Lewis Blackfox, Titus Blackfox, Lacey Blackfox, Damien Blackfox, Dakota Easter, JD Easter, and Junior Martinez serving as casket bearers. Honorary casket bearer will be Bryan Blackfox. Wake services will be held on Tuesday, November 10, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. leading up to the service on Wednesday. Walter is survived by his sons, Walter Blackfox Jr., Isaac Blackfox, Matthew Blackfox, and Jarrod J. Blackfox; stepsons, Jesse Eugene Peckenpaugh and Clint Smoke; brother, Leon Blackfox; sisters, Leanna Easter, Linda Starr, Rhodina Truitt, and Joyce Blackfox Rodriguez; grandchildren, Brianna, Allison, Gabriel, Landon, Mackenzie, Maliyah, Doris, and Aydin; great grandchild, Bodhi Re-Del Dean; and many other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, Ike and Julia; brothers, Earnest, Billy Ray, Bobby Dean, Lewis, Tommy, and Tooney; sisters, Genana, Bonnie, and Marilyn; honorable mention, Doris Coats Blackfox Peckenpaugh.
