Wilburn Watts Stamps

Wilburn Watts Stamps, 75, of Pryor, passed away on Saturday, January 4, 2020 in Claremore, Oklahoma. He was born on October 22, 1944 in Pryor; the son of Wilburn Hillis and Mary (Montgomery) Stamps. He married the love of his life, Mary Beth Sandusky, on January 31, 1964 and have celebrated 55 years of marriage. Wilburn worked as a machinist most of his life and enjoyed working with his hands. His greatest hobby was music, he loved playing the guitar and listening to music. He also had a large collection of records. In his younger years, he enjoyed spending time outdoors and going hunting. Wilburn attended Pleasant View Baptist Church and looked forward to services there. He was a wonderful man of faith, and loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather and leaves behind many memories for his family to cherish.

Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, January 8, 2020 in the Blake – Stamps Family Cemetery in Pryor with Stephen Stamps, Aaron McFarland, Paul McFarland, David McFarland, Robert Stamps, and Charles Stamps serving as honorary casket bearers. Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 7, 2020 at Shipman’s Funeral Home. Wilburn is survived by his wife, Mary Beth Stamps of the home; Sam Stamps and wife Kathy of Talala, Oklahoma; grandchildren, Abigale Mason and husband Greg of Talala, Oklahoma and Stephen Stamps of Tahlequah, Oklahoma; great granddaughter, Madeline Mason of Talala, Oklahoma; and many other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, Wilburn and Mary Stamps; brother, Albert Stamps and sister, Mary Jane Stamps.
