William Chumwalooky

William Chumwalooky was born on December 2, 1951 in Claremore, Oklahoma to Jimmy and Ella Mae (Backwater) Chumwalooky. He passed from this life on January 18, 2021 at the age of 69 years in Tulsa, Oklahoma after a short battle with cancer. William married Carolyn Leaf on July 3, 1976, they had 2 children: Robin Ross Chumwalooky and Branda MaShell Chumwalooky. William attended school in Jay, graduating from Jay High School in 1971. After high school he went on to graduate from Okmulgee Tech in 1973. He took auto body, he loved painting cars. Over the years William worked at Jim Phillips Ford in Pryor, he also painted cars for J.C. Lake and Fred Taylor. During that time, he was painting antique cars, motor homes, and airplanes. The airplanes he painted are now in a museum called House on the Rocks in Spring Green, Wisconsin. The last of his work years were at Grede Foundry in Pryor. William and Carolyn are members of the Fellowship of Believers in Langley, Oklahoma. He loved the Lord and loved to tell people about Jesus. William loved to sit on the porch and talk to Jesus while drinking coffee. He was a quiet and shy guy but would open up when it came to talking to Jesus. He loved coon hunting, fishing, and going to church. William and Carolyn owned the Cherokee Shop in Salina for many years. William loved his family dearly, especially his grandson, Chaston and great grandson, River Lee Chumwalooky. His last words were “Take care of River” and “I love you”.

William is survived by his wife Carolyn; 2 children, Robin Ross and Branda MaShell Chumwalooky; special daughter-in-law: Lisa Easter; 1 grandchild: Chaston and wife Skyla; Great Grandson River Lee Chunwalooky; 4 brothers: Johnny Chumwalooky, Don Chumwalooky, Ron Chumwalooky, Leo Chumwalooky and 1 sister: Betty Gourd, all of Salina, Oklahoma; His mother: Ella Mae; mother-in-law, Lorene Ross; Special brothers Brent Taylor and Bruce Taylor; 5 nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Jimmy Chumwalooky.
