Obituary

Wilma (Blossom) Kingfisher, 79, went to be with the Lord on Friday, February 5, 2021. Wilma was born on June 2, 1941, and had a twin sister, named Thelma Kingfisher. She was born in Claremore, Oklahoma, the daughter of Sam and Jennie (Christie) Blossom. She was married to Johnny Kingfisher; Sr. and they had been together for 42 years. She was a long-standing member at Standing Rock Baptist Church. Wilma loved to sew, and attended Haskell Institute, where she enrolled in Costume Shop. It was there, where she learned to sew. She made clothing for her mom and dad, husband, children, and friends. She was a stay-at-home mom most of her life. She was their biggest fan, rooting for them at the sidelines. Wilma loved traveling and would often get in the car to go sightseeing and loved going to North Carolina to visit friends. Wilma enjoyed cooking at the creek. She liked being at her kids volleyball tournaments and watching them play. She loved to attend any events that her children and grandchildren were involved in at the time, from little league to High School Basketball, she would try to be there and enjoyed watching them.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, February 11, 2021 in the Standing Rock Baptist Church in Salina, Oklahoma with Reverend Jess Williams officiating. Burial will follow in the Little Rock Indian Cemetery in Locust Grove with Aaron Kingfisher, Kaleb Kingfisher, Cameron Kingfisher, Corey John Kingfisher, Bryce Kingfisher, and Bryan Wesley serving as casket bearers. Honorary casket bearers will be Johnny Kingfisher, Jr., Thomas Kingfisher, Johnathan Kingfisher, TJ Kingfisher, Erick Kingfisher, Linda Youngbird, and Derek Kingfisher. Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, February 10, 2021 in the Shipman’s Funeral Home Chapel. Wilma is survived by her sons, Johnny Kingfisher, Jr. and wife Danita of Kansas, Oklahoma, Thomas Kingfisher of Salina, Oklahoma, Johnathan Kingfisher and wife Jennifer of Tahlequah, Oklahoma, TJ Kingfisher and Joanna White of Salina, Oklahoma, Erick Kingfisher of Salina, Oklahoma; daughter, Linda Youngbird and husband Jesse of Kansas, Oklahoma; sisters, Thelma Kingfisher of Salina, Oklahoma and Rosalene Lenio of Salina, Oklahoma; grandchildren, Kristal, Aaron, Kayla, Shaylie, Johnny, Kaleb, Cameron, Kelsey, Corey John, Bryce, Nevaeh, Aiden Joe, Kinlee, and Derek; great grandchildren, Lily, Kyron, Teagan, and Kingzlee; and many other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, Sam and Jennie Blossom; husband, Johnny Kingfisher, Sr., sons, Chris Blossom, Derek Kingfisher, and Charles Kingfisher; brother, Mose Blossom, sister, Cherry Blossom; and grandson, Aiden Joe.
