Thomas (Tom) H. Day, 72, of Pryor, OK, was called home to be with Jesus on Thursday, May 17, 2018, surrounded by his loving family. Tom was born on September 13, 1945 in Elk City, Oklahoma to Leo Day and Edith (Enlow) Day. He was raised in Locust Grove and graduated high school in 1963. His high school years were filled with the love of hunting, fishing, and most of all, the love of playing football. He married Velma Thomas on February 1, 1964 and they moved to Tulsa, where he attended and graduated from Tulsa University in 1970. They moved to Bartlesville, OK, where he worked for Phillips Petroleum. In 1992, they moved to the Houston area, where he continued to work for Phillips until he retired in 2000. Tom was faithful to God, serving as a Sunday school teacher for many years in the Bartlesville Church of the Nazarene, the Clear Lake Church of the Nazarene in Texas and First Church of God in Pryor, OK. He loved his family immensely, caring for them while always setting the example of a Christ – centered life. Anyone who met him knew that he was a man of great faith and love for the Lord.
